Assessor Qualifications:  Assessors must be tenured and current, or retired, firefighters (Fire Officers) of the rank of Captain or higher (or equivalent) AND must have been in that rank for at least two years.  Additionally, assessors must not reside in the Miramar Area, be a current or former employee of the City of Miramar and shall not be related by blood or marriage to any candidate for promotion in Miramar. Finally, assessors should never have had, and do not currently have, any personal or professional working relationship with any candidate eligible for promotion in the Miramar, FL Fire Captain process.
We are seeking six (6) assessors for two (2) diverse panels, by both gender and race, who fit the above criteria and are available to attend and serve as an assessor.

 

Logistical Specifics: The Assessment Center activities will be held virtually.  Each assessor will need high speed internet on a laptop or tablet to download candidate videos and Microsoft Teams to work together to score the candidates.
 
Miramar Fire will have approximately fifteen (15) Lieutenant candidates and two (2) exercises to be scored. Assessors will be compensated for their time in the amount of $25 per candidate, per exercise scored.
