Assessor Qualifications:
Assessors must be current, or retired, firefighters of the rank of Lieutenant or higher (or equivalent) and must have been in that rank for at least two (2) years. However, we will also need assessors who are firefighters currently, or previously, in the rank of Fire Marshal or higher (or equivalent) and in the rank for at least two (2) years. We are seeking diverse panels, by both gender and race, by officers who fit the above criteria and are available to attend and serve as an assessor.
Logistical Specifics:
The Assessment Center activities will be held virtually. Each assessor will need high speed internet on a laptop or tablet to download candidate videos and Microsoft Teams to work together to score the candidates. Stamford will have approximately fifty (50) Lieutenant candidates, twenty (20) Captain candidates, and five (5) Deputy Fire Marshal candidates testing, and two exercises, per rank, to be scored. Assessors will be compensated for their time in the amount of $150 for training and $25 per candidate, per exercise scored.
