Assessor Qualifications: Assessors must be tenured, current or retired police of the rank of Lieutenant or higher (or equivalent) AND must have been in that rank for at least two (2) years. Additionally, assessors must not reside in the Gainesville Metropolitan Area, be a current or former employee of the City of Gainesville, or be related by blood or marriage to any candidate for promotion.

Logistical Specifics: The Assessment Center activities will be held virtually. Each assessor will need a laptop or tablet with high-speed internet to download candidate videos, and Microsoft Teams to collaborate on scoring. We are seeking twelve (12) assessors for four (4) diverse panels by both gender and race.

Gainesville, FL Police will have approximately forty-one (41) Corporals, eighteen (18) Sergeants, and nine (9) Lieutenant candidates, with two (2) exercises to be scored per rank. Assessors will be compensated $150 for training and $25 per candidate, per exercise scored.
