Austin-Travis, TX EMS Communications Commander Virtual Assessment Center

Assessor Qualifications:

Assessors for the EMS Commander – Communications must have familiarity with the communications/dispatch setting, must come from the EMS division of the Fire Department, have a paramedic certification, have experience in training paramedics and EMTs, and supervising dispatchers and dispatch senior personnel. Additionally, assessors must be of the rank of, or equivalent to, Commander or higher (or equivalent) AND must have been in that rank for at least two (2) years. If possible, we are seeking three (3) assessors to fill one (1) diverse panel, by both gender and race, of firefighters who fit the above criteria and are available to attend and serve as an assessor.

Logistical Specifics:

The Assessment Center activities will be held virtually. Each assessor will need high speed internet on a laptop or tablet to download candidate videos and Microsoft Teams to work together to score the candidates. Austin-Travis EMS will have eight (8) Commander candidates testing, and two (2) exercises to be scored. Assessors will be compensated for their time in the amount of $150 for training and $25 per candidate, per exercise scored.
